No Gatekeeping
No one started their maker journey knowing everything. Black Hole Studio champions the new makers and ensures their voices are heard and amplified. Everyone is free to contribute, share, and build up everyone in the community. We do not exclude people based on their skill level, knowledge, or expertise. Discussion should flow freely and conversations at all levels are encouraged.
Inclusivity
We welcome all people regardless of race, color, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, or other expression of identity. Black Hole Studio strives to provide a safe and respectful environment that ensures all voices are heard, empowered, and supported.
Avoid Perfectionism
There is no “right” way to make things. At the end of the day, do you like what you made? That’s really all that matters. As makers, we spend hours and hours looking at our work from 6” away, but in practical use, no one is looking that closely. Embrace the imperfections and focus on the feeling that your item will imbue.
Community
At Black Hole Studio, we embrace, encourage, and uplift our fellow makers. We want the space to to work for you and celebrate all the ways that makers come together. If you have an idea for how you might want to use the space for your project, group, class, gallery, pop up shop, etc, let us know!
