In this class, we will learn how to make a quilt from start to finish.
Quilt finishes at 36” square, which is great for a baby quilt or wall hanging.
Some sewing experience is required, this is not a learn to sew class.
You will learn:
Using a rotary cutter and ruler
Making Half-Square Triangle blocks
Accurate piecing
Making a quilt sandwich
Machine quilting using a walking foot
Making binding (optional bias binding)
Finishing your quilt
Adding a quilt label
You will provide the following:
½ yard fabric for the center heart
Option A: ¼ yard each of 8 different fabrics or 8 fat quarters
Option B: ½ yard each of 4 different fabrics
1 ¼ yard backing fabric
¼ yard binding fabric (or 3/8 yard if you want to make your own bias binding)
Black Hole Studio will provide:

The class runs over 6 sessions, but you only need to attend 3-4 of them (but you can come to all of them if you want to!). Plan to attend either Day 1 or Day 2 to get started and then either Day 5 or Day 6 to finish. All other days you can attend as needed to make progress.

Day 1 - 5/5 (Tues) 6:30-8:30pm: Please plan to attend this class to get started. If you can’t make it, we can catch you up in the next class
Day 2 - 5/9 (Sat) 5-7pm: Use this as an optional working day or attend this class if you didn’t get started on 5/5
Day 3 - 5/12 (Tues) 6:30-8:30pm: Use this as an optional working day
Day 4 - 5/17 (Sun) 5-7pm: Use this as an optional working day
Day 5 - 5/21 (Thurs) 6:30-8:30pm: Use this as an optional working day or complete the final quilt
